Ramdev and Balkrishna had earlier tendered an “unconditional and unqualified apology” before the Supreme Court over advertisements issued by the firm making tall claims about the medicinal efficacy of its products.

On Tuesday, Ramdev and his aide Balkrishna faced questions from the Supreme Court about how prominently they had published their unqualified apology in newspapers.

Is it the same size of advertisements that you normally issue in newspapers?" a bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah asked them while hearing the case.

Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Ramdev and Balkrishna, told the bench they had issued on Monday an unqualified apology for the “lapses” on their part.

“Where was it published?” the bench asked.

Mukul Rohatgi said the apology has been published in 67 newspapers across the country.

"Prominently?" the bench asked the advocate further and directed that the apology published be filed on record. It said it wanted to see the actual apology published in newspapers.

"The said advertisements are not on record. It is submitted that the same have been collated and shall be filed in the course of the day with copies to counsel for the parties. Needful shall be done within two days with copies to counsel for the parties," the bench said.

Make In India vs Made In India

Make In India vs Made In India

In recent years, the Indian government has launched several initiatives to boost the manufacturing sector, including the "Make in India" campaign. The campaign aims to encourage both domestic and foreign companies to manufacture their products in India, with the aim of creating jobs, boosting exports, and making India a global manufacturing hub. However, there has been a growing debate over whether "Make in India" is the right approach, or whether "Made in India" would be a better alternative.

The "Made in India" approach focuses on developing domestic manufacturing capabilities and promoting locally made products. This approach aims to make India self-reliant and reduce its dependence on imports. The idea is that by promoting domestic manufacturing, India can create more jobs, reduce its trade deficit, and build a stronger economy.

On the other hand, the "Make in India" approach focuses on attracting foreign companies to invest in India and manufacture their products here. The idea is that this will bring in more foreign investment, create more jobs, and boost India's exports. The government has already made several policy changes to make it easier for foreign companies to do business in India, such as relaxing FDI norms, simplifying regulatory procedures, and offering incentives.

However, there are concerns that the "Make in India" approach may not be the best way to boost India's manufacturing sector. Critics argue that it could lead to a situation where foreign companies dominate the Indian market, while domestic companies struggle to compete. This could result in a situation where the economy is dominated by a few large foreign companies, while local companies are forced to shut down.

Furthermore, there is a risk that the "Make in India" approach could lead to an over-reliance on foreign technology and expertise, which could be detrimental to India's long-term growth. It is important for India to develop its own manufacturing capabilities and expertise, rather than relying on foreign companies to provide technology and know-how.

In conclusion, while the "Make in India" approach may have some benefits in terms of attracting foreign investment and creating jobs, the "Made in India" approach is a more sustainable long-term solution. By focusing on developing domestic manufacturing capabilities and promoting locally made products, India can become more self-reliant and build a stronger economy. It is important for the government to strike a balance between attracting foreign investment and promoting domestic manufacturing, to ensure that India's manufacturing sector can thrive in the long run.

IRAN vs ISRAEL

IRAN vs ISRAEL

New Battle Unlocked

IRAN attacked ISRAEL

Why has Iran attacked Israel?

Iran launched drones and missiles towards Israel after vowing retaliation for a deadly strike on its consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus.

Israel has not said it carried out the consulate strike, but is widely believed to have been behind it.

It is the first time that Iran has attacked Israel directly.

Previously Israel and Iran had been engaged in a years-long shadow war - attacking each other's assets without admitting responsibility.

Those attacks have ratcheted up considerably during the current war in Gaza sparked by the Palestinian group Hamas's assault on nearby Israeli communities last October.

Why are Israel and Iran enemies?

The two countries were allies until the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran, which brought in a regime that has used opposing Israel as a key part of its ideology.

Iran does not recognise Israel's right to exist and seeks its eradication.

The country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has previously called Israel a "cancerous tumour" that "will undoubtedly be uprooted and destroyed".

Israel believes that Iran poses an existential threat as evidenced by Tehran's rhetoric, its build-up of proxy forces sworn to Israel's destruction, its funding and arming of Palestinian groups including Hamas and of the Lebanese Shia militant group Hezbollah, and what it believes is Iran's secret pursuit of nuclear weapons, though Iran denies seeking to build a nuclear bomb.

Iran wanted to hit back after attack on consulate

Iran says Saturday night's bombardment of Israel is a response to the 1 April air strike on an Iranian consulate building in the Syrian capital Damascus, which killed senior Iranian commanders.

Iran blames Israel for the air strike, which it saw as a violation of its sovereignty. Israel has not said it carried it out but is widely assumed to have done so.

Thirteen people were killed, including Brig Gen Mohammad Reza Zahedi - a senior commander in the Quds force, the overseas branch of Iran's elite Republican Guards (IRGC). He had been a key figure in the Iranian operation to arm the Lebanese Shia armed group Hezbollah.

What message is Iran sending through its attack?

"We blocked. We intercepted. Together we will win," was how Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assessed things.

But Tom Fletcher, a foreign policy advisor to several UK prime ministers and a former UK ambassador to Lebanon, said the Iranian salvo was a "chilling signal of Iran's capability and reach."

ISRAEL says" it will respond to IRAN'S Attack as world leaders urge restraint."

Israel’s military chief said Monday that the country will respond after Iran launched an attack involving hundreds of drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. World leaders are urging Israel not to retaliate.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says “all sides must show restraint” to avoid a rising spiral of violence in the Middle East. French President Emmanuel Macron said Paris will try to “convince Israel that we must not respond by escalating.”

The Iranian attack on Saturday marked the first time Iran has launched a direct military assault on Israel, despite decades of enmity dating back to the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. The attack happened less than two weeks after a suspected Israeli strike in Syria that killed two Iranian generals in an Iranian consular building.

An Israeli military spokesperson said that 99% of the drones and missiles launched by Iran were intercepted.
